LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A man was killed Monday evening in a crash in the Algonquin neighborhood after a Dodge pickup ran a stop sign and struck his vehicle, police said.

Airel Taylor, 25, is charged with vehicular homicide when under the influence, operating a motor vehicle under the influence and failure of owner to maintain required insurance.

Around 7:40 p.m., the Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) responded to reports of a motor vehicle crash near the intersection of W. Lee Street and McCloskey Avenue.

According to investigators, Taylor was driving a Dodge pickup and ran a stop sign at the intersection for an unknown reason. Her truck collided with a Ford Mustang entering the roadway.
