BARTLETT, Tenn. - Bartlett Animal Shelter is in the midst of a 10-day closure after a dog infected with the parvo virus was recently taken to the facility, officials said.
The shelter said Monday that it was not accepting dogs for at least 10 days due to the virus. Parvo is extremely contagious. In a Facebook post, Bartlett Animal Shelter said that "we cannot in good conscience knowingly expose dogs to this horrible virus."
The shelter said if you find a lost dog, get it scanned for a microchip at any veterinarian's office, post a picture on Lost and Found Pets of Bartlett on Facebook or Nextdoor and call its office.
"Again, the shelter will not be an option at this time," the shelter said.
