MEMPHIS, Tenn. - People spent hours in line for a food pantry that didn't open on Tuesday morning.

The Mid-South Food Bank said that, as the government shutdown continues, the already great need for food will be even greater and lines will be even longer. People flocked to what they thought was a food giveaway on Tuesday, only to find that the posted date on the giveaway was wrong and that it was actually scheduled for next Tuesday.

People who lined up early in the Cherokee neighborhood told FOX13 that every little bit counts, especially with SNAP benefits for the next month still up in the air amid the shutdown.

"God is going to make a way," Kaye Perry told FOX13.
