MEMPHIS, Tenn. - 31 schools and nearly 200 students and staff have been affected by an outbreak of hand, foot, and mouth disease.
This isn't just a concern for young kids.
While this disease typically affects younger children, adults can also contract it or be carriers of the disease.
There's a new strain of the disease going around this year.
This is leading doctors to see more cases in adults and older kids, and if parents are sick, it's going to make your job as a caregiver harder.
Debbie Holdman is a grandmother and a caregiver for multiple children; something like this would be difficult to manage, she said.
"You would not be able to work. You really wouldn't be able to provide care for your young ones like you should, because you yourself would be sick," Holdman said.
