SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - College basketball season has yet to tip off, but Notre Dame women’s basketball star Hannah Hidalgo is already racking up some major accolades.
On Tuesday afternoon, Hidalgo was named a Preseason AP All-American for the second straight season. The honor comes after she was picked last week as the ACC Preseason Player of the Year .
Hidalgo is coming off a season where she became just the fourth sophomore to earn All-America honors in her first two years .
She averaged 23.8 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.6 assists for the Fighting Irish last season.
She is expected to take on a bigger role coming into her junior season after the Fighting Irish lost their other four starters to either the WNBA or the transfer portal.
