SPENCER COUNTY, Ky. — Students at two Spencer County schools are being released early Tuesday afternoon due to a nearby water main break.
A water main break on Highway 44 is affecting both Spencer County High School and Spencer County Elementary School, according to school officials.
"Unfortunately, the repair may be prolonged and we don’t feel that having school for a full day is possible. As a result, we will be dismissing early today, Tuesday, October 21, 2025," a SCPS Facebook post said.
Students will be released at the following times:
Spencer County High School, Hillview Academy, and Spencer County Middle School will release at 1 p.m.
