The fifth annual Peace and Justice event hosted by Pa. Media Group and the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission was cut short Tuesday afternoon by a power outage.
The event was being held at Penn State Harrisburg in the Mukund S. Kulkarni Theatre in Lower Swatara Township, when an announcement was made that the campus was experiencing a power outage.
A message was posted to the university’s website :
“PSU Alert Harrisburg URGENT Unforeseen power outage on campus; closing immediately,” the statement read. “Classes and activities are canceled.”
Students and staff were asked to leave as the campus was closed.
The event’s keynote speaker, Sarah Towle, author of “Crossing the Line: Finding America in the Borderlands,” will give her speech from the PennLive office later this aftern
