The Pittsburgh Steelers lost a steady presence on Tuesday when head coach Mike Tomlin confirmed that safety and special-teams captain Miles Killebrew will miss the remainder of the 2025 NFL season after undergoing surgery for a knee injury.

Killebrew was helped off the field in Pittsburgh's Week 6 matchup against the Cleveland Browns and was quickly carted to the locker room.

The Steelers then placed Killebrew on IR ahead of the Cincinnati Bengals game in Week 7, with Tomlin referring to the knee injury as "significant" and the veteran safety having surgery soon after.

Pittsburgh enters Week 8 of the season with a 5-2 record but will now have to navigate the rest of the season without one of their mainstays and one of the NFL's best special teamers.
