Heartland Hounds, owned and operated by Dr. Kasey Flynt, is pawing its way into Emporia.
The dog obedience and sports training facility and wellness center has set its sights to open in early November. Housed in 912 Commercial Street, the former home of Dynamic Discs, Flynt plans on hosting obedience training classes, sports conditioning classes, and partnering with local veterinarians to provide medical services for canines.
Flynt, an Emporia State University (ESU) Biology Professor, has spent a significant amount of their career working in human health and among human athletes. When they were diagnosed with cancer and receiving treatment, Flynt needed to find training for their service dog, which required travel away from Emporia.
