The Friends of the Emporia Public Library (FOL) are celebrating another successful fall book sale, bringing in nearly $4,000 over its first three days.

The sale, which runs Oct. 17 through Oct. 22, raises money that goes directly toward the Emporia Public Library for books, equipment, or other special requests.

“I think a library is an important facet of any community, and the Friends continue to be a force here in Emporia,” said Dee Schwinn, Friends of the Emporia Public Library Board chairwoman. “Because we can get things for them, they can use their money for other things that they need.”

The first day of the sale was open exclusively to members of FOL, allowing them to have first pick on sale items the day before it officially opened to the public.
