The college football season is beginning to shift gears into the final third of the year, as the Emporia State Hornets played game number seven on the year against Central Oklahoma. Coming into the game, the Hornets got back to a .500 record of 3-3 after winning two in a row and looked to continue their winning ways.

That would not happen against Central Oklahoma, however, as the Bronchos would stampede over the Hornets in a 56-22 loss. This loss also delays history being made by Head Coach Garin Higgins as he needs one win to become the all-time wins leader at ESU for a head coach over Fran Welch. The game would see the Hornets get off to a slow start, and Central Oklahoma took advantage of that.
