Police have launched an urgent appeal after a woman pushing a pram was struck by a vehicle that mounted the pavement. ‌

The terrifying collision happened at approximately 4.30pm today on the R617 route linking Blarney and Tower in Ireland. ‌

The woman, in her 30s, and the baby were transported to Cork hospital for treatment. ‌

Her condition is described as stable with non-life-threatening injuries, whilst the child escaped completely unscathed in what a local fire service member called a 'miraculous' result.

Officers are appealing for anyone who saw the smash or was driving through the vicinity at the time with potential dashcam evidence to contact emergency services, reports the Mirror . ‌
