According to Jefferson Parish Councilman Deano Bonano, the fire is under control. It began around 7 a.m. when a 4,000-gallon diesel tank caught fire, prompting a second alarm.
Traffic officials say the blaze has caused disruptions on Peters Road, north and southbound, and the road remains closed between Lapalco Boulevard and Bayou Road.
