SHREVEPORT, La. - School board members, faculty, and school principals gathered at Donnie Bickham Middle School on Wednesday to celebrate the school's remodeled library.

The renovations include increased space for classes, new shelves and furniture, and updated technology.

"Today is a true celebration," said Donnie Bickham Principal Dennis Spires. "Next fall, we're going to have Blanchard Elementary bring pre-K through three here. And so the design here was to make a library that was already the largest in Caddo Parish to fit elementary and middle school kids. We value the library here."

The librarians will also teach students how to validate sources and safely browse the internet.
