CARBONDALE, Ill. — What started as a classroom presentation on the history of Carbondale’s economy turned into a community-wide discussion Monday evening, one that mixed local history, economics, and a bit of Halloween nostalgia.

Southern Illinois University’s Economics Club hosted The Future of Carbondale Economic Forum and Panel Discussion inside Lawson Hall, bringing together city and university leaders to talk about what’s shaping the local economy and how both institutions can continue working together.
