NEW YORK (AP/WAVE/WBTV) — The Miami Heat ’s Terry Rozier has been arrested in connection with a federal sports betting probe, sources tell AP.
Rozier played for the Louisville Cardinals from 2013 to 2015. He was taken 16th overall by the Boston Celtics in the 2015 NBA draft.
The Eastern District of New York and FBI Director Kash Patel will hold a news conference at 10 a.m. ET to announce the arrest.
ESPN said Rozier’s arrest stemmed from an investigation into a March 23, 2023 game when he was still with Charlotte. Sportsbooks in multiple states allegedly flagged “suspicious” betting on Rozier props, which took the unders on his points, rebounds and assists.
During that game, Rozier played only 10 minutes before he left with an injury.
