MOUNT VERNON, Mo. (KY3) - A Mount Vernon woman who worked at the Missouri Baptist Children’s Home faces charges for taking children from the facility to her home for her son to sexually assault.

Prosecutors charged Lawanna Wilson with two counts of sexual trafficking of a child and five counts of endangering the welfare of a child. Investigators say the crimes occurred two years ago.

Wilson’s son, Tanner Wilson, is serving a 10-year prison sentence. Investigators indicate the younger Wilson was out on bond for statutory rape charges at the time of the alleged incidents.

The charges stem from Wilson’s employment at the Missouri Baptist Children’s Home, where investigators say she abused her position to facilitate the assaults.
