WATERFORD, Conn. (WTNH) -- General Dynamics Electric Boat announced Thursday it has acquired the Crystal Mall in Waterford, Connecticut, as part of its plans to expand.
This addition follows its acquisition of the former Macy's location in June, in support of the company's push to speed submarine production.
The submarine company acquired the entire 850 Hartford Turnpike property, excluding the former Sears building.
"This will allow us to pull the administrative functions and consolidate them in this location," Electric Boat President Mark Rayha said at a press conference Thursday. "Consolidate them in the mall so we can use that precious space in Groton to build submarines."
