HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Nearly two years after it was destroyed in a tornado, a Sumner County church is preparing to reopen its doors.
Gospel Movement Church is just one of the many building that were destroyed in that 2024 tornado outbreak.
It's taken time to recover and rebuild, but Lead Pastor Daniel Johnson said they've always had faith God would provide for them.
Johnson told News 2 the tornado didn't only destroy their building, but also much of their equipment as well.
The church then moved into a school, temporarily holding their services inside while they rebuilt.
That rebuilding process took longer than they through it would, but now all that waiting is finally about to pay off.
