Guelph police seek the culprit of a Bell service outage, with thousands of dollars in damage, that affected several businesses.

Police said on Wednesday, at approximately 12:25 p.m., they received a report a Bell utility box had been entered and wires were taken. The theft was discovered by a technician responding to a complaint of a service outage affecting nearby businesses.

The technician estimated the stolen wire would be valued at $100, but the cost of repairing the damage would be $5,000 to $10,000.
