FRANKSTON, Texas (KLTV) - A local contractor is replacing the roof at a historic East Texas location.
The Frankston Railroad Depot was erected in 1906 as the town began to grow, thanks to the railroad. In 1976, the depot was turned into a museum. It was transformed into a library, as well, by 1984.
“The people the community, cooperating in the project, it was just amazing,” said Joe Tindel, the Vice President of the Depot Corporation.
Contractors have repaired storm damage, along with removing asbestos from the roof’s interior. They’re now adding new roof panels with a similar style to the ones they removed.
