Every Monday, an assembly line of volunteers helping with Second Sacks pack weekend meals for Lufkin ISD students. Volunteers rotate every week. At the head of this line is Susan Newcomer, who’s been helping for the past three years. “I had some free time, and I knew this was for a good cause. It is needed in our community,” Newcomer said.
