Rain and mountain snow will return to northern New Mexico Friday. Cooler air also moves in before warming up this weekend.
Storms moved through central, northern, and eastern New Mexico this afternoon. Some of these storms brought hail and gusty winds with them. Snow has even been falling today above about 9,000' to 10,000' in the northern mountains, dusting the peaks with a layer of snow today. It's also been breezier today in western New Mexico where drier air started moving in. Winds will die down tonight, but a few isolated storms will continue across eastern New Mexico until after midnight.
As the center of the low pressure system moves along the New Mexico/Colorado state line Friday afternoon, more showers and mountain snow will develop. Temperatures will be colder, so snow levels
