A wind advisory was released by the National Weather Service on Friday at 2:10 a.m. valid between 11 a.m. and 11 p.m. for Foothills of the Southern Blue Mountains of Oregon, North Central Oregon and Central Oregon.
“Southwest winds 20 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected,” explains the weather service. “A cold front moving through the region will bring gusty winds at onset, with breezy to occasionally gusty winds through the evening.”
“Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result,” states the weather service. “Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.”
