QUINCY (WGEM) - The Quincy City Council may be cracking down on abandoned and dilapidated portions of mobile home parks with a proposed ordinance.
The ordinance would give the city authority to withhold permits from mobile home park owners if they incur unpaid cleanup costs owed to the city.
Currently, the city has no recourse if an owner of a mobile home park refuses to clean, maintain, or demolish an abandoned lot on their property.
Several complaints have been lodged with the city after some park owners have ignored requests to deal with trash buildup and varmints, among other issues.
Alderman Eric Entrup, who represents the city’s first ward, believes the ordinance will hold park owners accountable to their role in keeping Quincy clean.
