SUPERIOR, Wis.– For anyone who had old medications lying around today was an opportunity to dispose of them safely.
The Superior Public Library welcomed in the Douglas County Drug Prevention Coalition.
They came prepared with free resources such as Narcan, medication lock boxes, and medical disposal bags.
The event not only gave the opportunity to safely dispose meds, but also to educate.
They’re hoping to spread the message of misuse as well as the environmental impact of improper disposal.
“A lot of people don’t realize is the effects of when you do you dispose of meds, whether you’re flushing them in the toilet or putting them in the garbage, the harm it really does cause to our environment. And so that is one piece I’ve heard a lot about. And
