A 52-year-old Monessen died early Saturday after he was struck by a vehicle as he walked along Rostraver Road.

Post-Gazette news partner KDKA-TV said Darren Snyder was found along the 800 block of Rostraver Road in Rostraver Township about 6:30 a.m.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

KDKA reported that police said the driver of the vehicle that hit the victim remained on the scene and cooperated with police.

Rostraver Road was shut down for about two hours as police investigated the incident.
