AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Families in Burke County gathered at the Burke County Family YMCA Saturday evening for the annual “Boo-nanza” event, allowing children to trick-or-treat safely six days before Halloween.

Kids dressed in costumes collected Halloween candy at the event, which provided an alternative to traditional door-to-door trick-or-treating. The Burke County Recreation Department and Sheriff’s Office organized the community event.
