COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho — A float plane was found partially submerged at Independence Point Dock on Coeur d'Alene Lake on Sunday.
The Coeur d'Alene Police Department told KTVB that the aircraft's condition was likely caused by high winds and heavy rain that struck the area.
"This is where the float plane is docked, and all indications point to very high winds and rain that have led to this condition," police said in a statement.
The aircraft, which is privately owned, remains docked at the location where it typically floats on the water like a boat. Police clarified that the incident does not constitute a criminal matter.
"This is a private plane and not a police incident," the department said, adding they do not have photographs of the aircraft.
