BATON ROUGE, La. (KLFY) -- LSU football head coach Brian Kelly has been informed that the school intends to dismiss him, according to ESPN's Pete Thamel.

The decision comes following a brutal 49-25 loss Saturday night to Texas A&M, moving the Tigers to 2-3 on the season and eliminating the team from college football playoff considerations.

Through four years with Kelly at the helm, LSU never made the college football playoffs or won the SEC Championship. Kelly's run at LSU ends with a 34-13 record, including a 5-11 mark against ranked opponents.

Frank Wilson has been named as the interim head coach following Kelly's departure. Discussions regarding the terms of Kelly's exit are expected to continue.
