MISHAWAKA, Ind. (WNDU) - Chili, chili, and well, more chili.
17 vendors from across Michiana competed for the coveted traveling trophy Sunday afternoon and tens of hundreds of people came out to judge who made it the best.
“It’s pleasant, it’s fun,” said Lisa and Alex Ottman. “They even have a beer court over there and there’s music, so what more could you ask for? You get your tummy and your belly full, and you get to drink and be merry with the other Michianers.”
But the annual event is more than just a friendly competition. It’s a fundraiser that benefits the Food Bank of Northern Indiana and the South Bend American Culinary Federation.
