SUGAR LAND, Texas — Former NFL Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson was arrested in Sugar Land Sunday morning, according to Sugar Land police.
Police confirmed Peterson was taken into custody around 9:30 a.m. on charges of driving while intoxicated and unlawful carrying of a weapon.
Police couldn’t release additional details about the arrest because the investigation is still active. As of Sunday afternoon, court documents were not yet available in the Fort Bend County court system, but jail records confirm Peterson’s arrest.
Earlier this year, Peterson was arrested in Minnesota for allegedly driving while impaired after police said he was driving 83 mph in a 55 mph zone and registering a 0.14% blood alcohol level.
