(KRON) -- A pedestrian was killed after they were struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run Sunday evening in San Francisco, the San Francisco Police Department said. The hit-and-run happened around 6:44 p.m. on the 1800 block of Ocean Avenue.
Police were informed that the collision was between a vehicle and a pedestrian. The pedestrian died at the scene of the crash, SFPD said.
Later that night, SFPD located a possible suspect and vehicle on the 500 block of Shields Street, about a mile away from the hit-and-run. According to SFPD, the individual was detained for further investigation.
The investigation into the fatal hit-and-run remains active. Anyone with information is asked to contact SFPD at 415-575-4444 or text a tip to TIP411 and begin the message with SFPD.
