Prithvi Shaw on Monday scored a 72-ball century for his new domestic team Maharashtra after joining the side earlier this year following a fruitful association with Mumbai. It was his maiden century for Maharashtra as they faced Chandigarh in the round 2 matches of the ongoing Ranji Trophy season.
The 25-year-old started the season with a duck before hitting 75 against Kerala in Thiruvananthapuram to show some form. In the first dig of the ongoing contest in Chandigarh, he was out for eight before slamming a century – the 14th of his first-class career.
This was also the joint-sixth fastest in Ranji Trophy history.
