EGG HARBOR, Wis. (WFRV) - Officials in Door County have released more details on the explosion Saturday morning at an Egg Harbor campground that left one person dead.
According to a release from the Egg Harbor Fire Department, personnel from multiple agencies responded at 7:45 a.m. to the Harbour Village Resort and Campground for a reported explosion.
Officials on the scene say there were no active fires or additional immediate threats following the explosion, but the storage building was said to be partially dismantled and one person was found dead outside.
An investigation revealed that it was an approximately 3000-gallon water tank, not an air tank as initially reported by the Door County Sheriff's Office, that had exploded as employees of the resort were winterizing the park for the
