**Eastern Airways Faces Administration as Financial Woes Mount** UK airline Eastern Airways is reportedly on the verge of entering administration. The Sun has revealed that the airline has filed a notice of intention to appoint an administrator. This legal document indicates that the company is preparing to enter administration, providing a temporary freeze that prevents creditors from taking legal action for a period of ten days.

Founded in 1997, Eastern Airways operates flights to several domestic airports across the UK, including Aberdeen, Humberside, London Gatwick, Newquay, Teesside International, and Wick. The airline previously offered international flights, including routes to Paris, France. Each year, Eastern Airways carries approximately 1.3 million passengers.

Financial difficulties have plagued the airline, which reported a net loss of £19.7 million for the year ending March 2024. Additionally, its total debt has escalated to £25.97 million, while profits have significantly declined to £454,000, down from £1.55 million the previous year. The Mirror has reached out to Eastern Airways for further comment regarding the situation.
