The body of a dad who fell overboard while traveling on a Dunoon ferry on Father's Day has been found after a four month search.

Mark Federspiel disappeared from the Sound of Shuna, a Western Ferries vessel, on Sunday, June 15. The 64-year-old had been visiting 22-year-old daughter Lara on the mainland with his wife Annette at the time of the incident.

The US Navy diver was reported missing at around 1pm after failing to return from the toilet. Annette said she raised the alarm just seven minutes later, reports the Record.

After four agonising months, Police Scotland have now confirmed in a statement that a body found on Kilcreggan Beach, on the Rosneath Peninsula, on the morning of Sunday, October 12 is that of Mark.
