BROWN COUNTY, Ohio (WXIX) - The Ohio State Highway Patrol has released new information in a hit-and-run crash that killed a 22-year-old man.

Troopers said their Georgetown post was contacted Friday evening by the Brown County Prosecutor’s Office.

Prosecutors said they were called by a private attorney representing the driver involved in Friday’s hit-and-run crash .

Between 12:40 a.m. and 1 a.m. Friday, the driver of a 2020 Ford Escape was going eastbound on State Route 125.

During that time, 22-year-old Caleb Holbert was walking eastbound on the westbound shoulder of the highway, according to OSP.

The Ford SUV went over the center line and hit Holbert, troopers explained.
