ERIE, PA - The temperature dropped into the lower 30s near lakeshores, with most folks to the south/southeast in the 20s on Monday morning. This caliber of cold kills any sensitive vegetation and will effectively end the growing season.
It will warm slightly and should be able to reach the low-to-mid 50s in this afternoon. Dominate high-pressure will ensure a nice weather pattern through mid-week, but a shift in the weather pattern arrives for the second half of the week.
A strong low-pressure system develops in the Midwest and will arrive Wednesday and Thursday, with very wet and windy weather. The low will lift north and east on Friday, but wraparound moisture, with lake effect rain showers and sprinkles develop for Halloween evening on Friday.
