NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - Two people were killed and another was injured after an officer-involved shooting at a North Augusta gas station Sunday afternoon, officials say.
The victims from Sunday’s shooting at the Sprint on Edgefield Road have been identified as 76-year-old Jewel Harden, of Hephzibah, and 33-year-old Thomas B. Lilly Jr., of Williston.
Both will be autopsied Wednesday in Newberry.
Multiple agencies responded to the shooting Sunday near the Sprint gas station at 107 Edgefield Road, including the Aiken County Coroner’s Office.
Upon arrival, North Augusta Department of Public Safety officers encountered an armed suspect in the parking lot, where they were shot by an officer, according to officials.
No officers were injured, officials say.
