A worrying incident in a UK park has seen a woman knocked unconscious in broad daylight. Officers are investigating reports of an assault in a park in Warrington.

Cheshire Constabulary say they are appealing for any witnesses to come forward. Some time between 1.45pm and 2.15pm on Sunday 5 October, it was reported that a 64-year-old woman had been assaulted while walking her dog in Orford Park by a man and woman.

The man and woman were in the park with a young child at the time of the incident, police say. During the incident, the victim was knocked unconscious and left with bruising to her head. She also sustained a broken hip as a result.
