Trains running in and out of Glasgow Central Station are facing disruption due to "a swan on the tracks".

Scotrail says rush hour services face cancellations, delays or diversion due to the issue which was reported shortly after 5.30pm on Monday, October 27.

It is understood the issue is causing disruption to high level services in and out of the station.

National Rail says delays are estimated to be up to 40 minutes.

Scotrail posted to X: "Due to animals on the railway at Glasgow Central, train services running to and from this station will be cancelled, delayed or revised."

National Rail added: "Animals on the railway at Glasgow Central means some lines are currently closed.

"As a result, trains may be delayed by up to 40 minutes."
