LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Former Mayor Oscar Goodman will be the center of attention on Nov. 12 as Oscar's Dinner Series returns, celebrating the 30th anniversary of the movie "Casino."
For $530, including taxes and fees, guests will hear Goodman's stories at Oscar's Steakhouse inside The Plaza Hotel & Casino, where several scenes for the movie were filmed.
Goodman's legendary career as lawyer and mouthpiece for the mob was followed by two terms as "the happiest mayor in the universe," an image he promoted with Las Vegas showgirls by his side and a martini in his hand.
On the screen, Goodman played himself in the 1995 Martin Scorsese classic, Robert DeNiro starred as Ace Rothstein, closely based on Frank "Lefty" Rosenthal, and Joe Pesci portrayed Nicky Santoro, based on Anthony "Tony the Ant"
