Detroit — Detroit mayoral candidate Mary Sheffield has turned her financial edge against her opponent, the Rev. Solomon Kinloch Jr., into a chasm, with Sheffield raising $1.2 million against Kinloch's $138,000, according to the latest campaign finance statements.
The two are vying to succeed Mayor Mike Duggan in the Nov. 4 general election. With just days to go before voters head to the polls, though early voting has already started, Sheffield has $672,000 to fund her campaign while Kinloch has $106,000, according to the campaign contribution filings turned in Friday.
