ROBESON COUNTY, NC (WMBF) - The Robeson County sheriff is calling the investigation into a mass shooting at a Halloween party complex.

The Robeson County Sheriff’s Office is actively looking into the early Saturday morning shooting on Dixon Drive near McGirt Gin Road in the Maxton area, which left 11 people hurt and two dead.

“I ask that the public be patient as we continue working alongside state and federal agencies to bring those responsible for this horrific act to justice,” Sheriff Burnis Wilkins said.

Wilkins said that within this complex investigation, multiple witnesses are being identified, victims in the hospital must be interviewed and forensic evidence has to be carefully analyzed.
