John Dickerson, the co-anchor of “CBS Evening News,” said Monday he is leaving the network by the end of the year.
“I am extremely grateful for all that CBS gave me - the work, the audience’s attention and the honor of being a part of the network’s history - and I am grateful for my dear colleagues who’ve made me a better journalist and a better human. I will miss you,” Dickerson wrote in an Instagram post.
“John epitomizes the very best of journalism,” CBS News President and Executive Editor Tom Cibrowski wrote in a statement, adding that Dickerson would continuing co-anchoring “until the holidays.” It’s unclear whether co-anchor Maurice DuBois will become the sole anchor of the network’s nightly news program.
Dickerson’s departure comes amid a regime change at the Tiffany network.
