Wingham Air Cadets is hosting an open house to introduce prospective members to the program, the organization announced in an Oct. 22 news release.

“Being a cadet is challenging for each individual, and we, the staff, strive to contend with aiding with motivating their personalities for them to become more confident in themselves and more independent, which brings fun,” the release said.

As the largest youth organization in Canada, membership in cadets is open to boys and girls between the ages of 12 and 18. Subsidized by the federal government, membership is free and covers citizenship, physical fitness, and the Canadian forces.
