BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) — North Dakota's sole member of the House, Congresswoman Julie Fedorchak, dropped by KX News and discussed a range of topics from the government shutdown to soybeans.
"I want to be clear, I voted to keep the government open on September 19, that's more than a month ago, and that passed the House, and it's been stuck over in the Senate since." Rep. Fedorchak said on the government shutdown.
On negotiations and how close Congress is to a deal, the congresswoman said, "I'm not in the Senate. I'm not really up to speed on all of the negotiations that are happening there with the Democrats, but I'm hopeful. I think there are some encouraging signs that a couple more have been talking about it, and we just need a few."
Rep. Fedorchak stressed the importance of healthcare
