MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WMTV) - Milwaukee’s very own Giannis Antetokounmpo has been named this week’s Eastern Conference Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
The weekly honor comes following a Week 1 average of 36.0 points per game, 16.0 rebounds per game, and 7.0 assists per game.
The Bucks walked away from the first week of the season with a 2-1 record, following their recent 118-113 loss to the Cavaliers in Cleveland on Sunday.
Despite the loss, the game brought a season-best out of Antetokounmpo, with 40 points, shooting 14-for-20 from the field, 14 rebounds, and nine assists, alongside two blocks and steals.
Giannis and the Bucks how hope to find themselves back in the win column, as they host the New York Knicks back home at Fiserv Forum on Tuesday.
