MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - The Madison Police Department confirmed that officers were called to a disturbance on the 500 block of State Street downtown over the weekend.
The call came in around 11 p.m. Saturday, when officials say a man who was banned from a local bar was allegedly causing a disturbance outside.
According to bar employees, the suspect was standing outside the door of the bar and yelling at staff members inside. He also allegedly made gestures as if he had a weapon.
When officers arrived, the suspect was searched, and it was determined that he did not have a weapon.
MPD stated bar employees told the officers that the man had acted this way the day before and did have a knife at that time.
